We’re Looking For You
We are looking for a Marketing Coordinator Intern to fill a paid 10‑week summer internship with TNC’s Pacific Marketing Division. We prefer a graduate student or recent graduate (between 2024 and 2025) with an interest in photography and video. This position is home‑based in the United States, with preference given to candidates in Hawaiʻi. The internship will provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and real‑world work, including orientation, professional networking, and hands‑on experience.
WhatWe Can Achieve Together
The Marketing Coordinator Intern will support digital asset management (DAM) for photography and video resources within the Pacific Division marketing team in Hawaiʻi and Palmyra. DAM is essential for rapid response communications. The intern will apply an organized taxonomy system, curate imagery, upload to TNC’s DAM, and develop short video clips on specific topics. Responsibilities include evaluating and organizing terabytes of digital assets, selecting “best of” collections for print and online use, and uploading a minimum of 300 assets.
If time allows, the intern will assist with content for newsletters, social media, or other publications (minimum of 10 pieces, including video reels or b‑roll).
- Study current taxonomy conditions and align with video team organizational methods
- Learn TNC’s DAM through short online training and gain familiarity with Hawaiʻi and Palmyra visual assets that need sorting
- Collaborate to develop sorting methods, select “best of,” and upload them to TNC’s DAM (minimum of 300 assets)
- Suggest options for short video reels on specific topics for social media or earned media; with approval, create at least 10 reels
- If time allows, support the rest of the marketing team on content creation
- May support other marketing administrative needs as directed
- High School Diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in a graduate program of communications, marketing, or related field, or a recent graduate with a degree in one of these or a related field
- Knowledge of or interest in visual storytelling (photography and video) and organization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in research, writing, and editing
- Close attention to detail
- Access to a reliable internet connection
- Coursework and/or exposure related to communications/marketing
- Self‑starter, taking initiative, and demonstrating confidence to ask questions and seek input
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Multilingual skills and multicultural or cross‑cultural experience appreciated
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, with the ability to construct and produce reports
- Experience with digital asset management and Adobe Premiere
- Highly organized, understanding of how to organize digital files for ease of use
- Visually oriented, keen eye for photography and video assets, understanding of image use in both print and online applications
This is a full‑time, home‑based, temporary internship position with a 10‑week term from June 1 to August 7, 2026.
Salary InformationThe pay for a selected candidate is $17.00 hourly. This range applies only to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Geographic location will be confirmed during recruitment.
