Full-Time | Competitive Salary Based on Experience

The Ohio Pork Council is seeking a strategic and innovative Marketing Manager to lead statewide pork promotion and demand enhancement initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for growing consumer demand, strengthening trust in pork production, and elevating the image of Ohio pork producers.

We are looking for a marketing professional who combines creativity with data‑driven strategy — someone who understands agriculture, values food‑animal production, and can execute campaigns that resonate in today’s evolving marketplace.

If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, embrace emerging marketing technologies, and want to make a measurable impact in agriculture, this role offers the opportunity to lead and influence at the state level.

This position is based in New Albany, Ohio and includes a mix of in‑office and remote work.

What You’ll Lead Strategic Marketing & Demand Enhancement
  • Develop and execute comprehensive pork promotion strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President and Demand Enhancement Committee to establish annual marketing plans and budgets.
  • Utilize approved AI tools, digital analytics, and data‑driven insights to optimize campaign performance.
  • Identify emerging consumer trends and marketing technologies to expand reach and ROI.
  • Develop innovative campaigns that build consumer trust and demonstrate the value of pork production.
Digital & Brand Strategy
  • Lead digital advertising campaigns and performance tracking.
  • Oversee social media strategies across Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, Pinterest, and You Tube.
  • Manage influencer partnerships and food blogger engagement.
  • Monitor consumer sentiment and support reputation management efforts.
  • Maintain and optimize the consumer‑facing website.
Event Marketing & Team Execution
  • Lead marketing strategy and execution for major events including Ohio Pork Congress and Ohio State Fair activations.
  • Work closely with the OPC team to execute programming and promotions.
  • Demonstrate a team‑first mindset — willing to contribute wherever needed to ensure event success.
  • Coordinate supervision of communication and/or event interns in collaboration with the Communication Director and Executive Vice President.
  • Provide oversight, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Agriculture, or related field required.
  • Strong agriculture background required with knowledge of pork production and the pork supply chain.
  • Passion for food animal agriculture required.
  • 1–2 years of marketing or related experience preferred (internships included); preference given to candidates with 3–5+ years of experience.
  • Experience with digital marketing, AI marketing tools, analytics platforms, and marketing automation preferred.
  • Strong writing, public speaking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Ohio and work evenings/weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than 2 years of marketing or related experience.
  • Experience in retail, food service, or stakeholder promotions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of swine production.
  • Experience managing event‑marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of paid social media advertising and content‑marketing strategy.
Professional Expectations

The Marketing Manager must demonstrate:

  • A strong work ethic and accountability
  • Strategic thinking and creative execution
  • Professionalism and credibility when representing Ohio pork producers
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented approach
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President and works closely with all Ohio Pork Council team members to ensure alignment of marketing strategy, event execution, and industry programming.
