The opportunity

Kin has the best reviews in home insurance. We’ve built trust by helping homeowners access quality home insurance, cutting inefficiencies and saving them money. Now, we want to be something more: the clear voice and trusted guide people seek out for insight at the intersection of personal finance and home ownership.

We are looking for a Senior Manager - Content and Organic Search to create high‑impact content that positions Kin as an authority homeowners trust for insight and advice. You find and fill information gaps for homeowners in need of advice, data, and straightforward information about home insurance, car insurance, home loans and more homeowner‑relevant topics. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact leadership opportunity to elevate our content and drive value for homeowners.

You will ensure we are creating content that provides clear, definitive, structured answers to common homeowner questions. You’ll own the strategy and execution for how Kin content surfaces when users search for across platforms like Google, Youtube and conversational engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. You’ll partner closely with product, data, design, and engineering to design search‑friendly experiences, scalable systems, and content structures and formats that amplify discoverability and conversion.

Supporting you is a small team made up of a skilled senior editor, a copywriter, an SEO leader, and many freelance writers. You’ll collaborate with marketing and cross‑functional stakeholders and report to the Senior Director of External Communications.

Your responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end content strategy, spanning SEO, awareness content, mid‑funnel conversion content, and product‑related narratives.

  • Take the raw ingredients we already have — a content library, brand voice, data, subject‑matter experts in home and auto insurance and home loans, and a brand committed to simple language — and turn them into a cohesive content engine that educates, informs, and shapes how people think about protecting their home.

  • Be hands‑on with content execution while leading and mentoring a small, high‑output team made up of our senior editor, copywriter, and our senior SEO manager.

  • Write or edit, and ship high‑impact content including:

    • SEO pillar pages, cluster articles, and comparison content

    • Data journalism‑style storytelling, and long‑form guides

    • One‑pagers, briefs, and product explainers
