Summary of the Role:Join our small, dynamic team as an Event Marketing and Attendee Recruitment Assistant, a key role in ensuring success and enhancing client experience for the Institutional Connect portfolio. As a core team member for marketing the event portfolios at Institutional Connect, you will play a central role in B2B marketing for our events, working closely with the event production, sponsorship, and operations teams to execute campaigns and recruit attendees.
You will leverage your skills in marketing, communications, designs, business development, creativity, as well as business acumen to achieve goals. This entry‑level role offers potential for career growth and is ideal for someone looking to build a career in B2B event marketing.
This is a remote, full‑time position based in the Greater Toronto area, with some travel required.
Key Accountabilities and Associated Tasks Email and Social Media Marketing- Work with event production, sponsorship and operations teams in creating marketing plans targeting each event of Institutional Connect portfolio.
- Create and execute compelling marketing email campaigns aimed to generate sponsorship and attendee inquiries.
- Create ongoing Linked In (and other social media) campaigns aligned with objectives of events.
- Track data on marketing campaigns and identify methods to improve results.
- Compile lists of invitees based on program requirements.
- Recruit attendees by sending out targeted email invitations.
- Achieve attendee goals for each event through a combination of email marketing, social media and direct invitation tools.
- Work with designer on creating / updating event websites with program, speakers, and logistics information.
- Track website performance and identify methods to improve traffic.
- Actively sourcing industry contacts based on event needs.
- Maintain and update client and prospect databases.
- Segment audiences based on role, organization type, geography and relevance to event portfolio.
- Assist with pre and post‑event communications.
- Work with event photographers and videographers on event photos and promotional videos.
- Work with clients on refining interview videos.
- Post‑secondary education in event marketing and planning, business management, communications, or related fields is an asset.
- Experience with CRM systems and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Hub Spot or similar).
- Recent graduates are welcome to apply. 1‑2 years of experience in event marketing assistant / business development is an asset.
- Experience working with a growing brand and successfully connecting with senior‑level executives is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal team members and external clients, with the ability to convey ideas concisely and effectively.
- Data‑driven mindset with results‑oriented approach
- Fluency in both written and oral English, familiarity in French is an asset.
- Quick learner of concepts, processes, and business cycles.
- Ability to work on tasks on multiple events / projects / items, with attention to details.
- Ability to work with a team members and clients who are from diverse backgrounds
