Email & CRM Intern

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern with affinity for digital media and technology to join our team as an Email & CRM Intern. In this role, you will focus on optimizing emails and nurture flows, support in developing customer communication, monitoring performance and managing email creation for multiple markets. You will work closely with our Marketing Operations Specialist, Content Team Lead and Digital Marketing specialists to drive success in our email marketing strategy.

This role of Email & CRM is based at our Amsterdam office and is a full-time (40 hours) position (32 hours can be discussed) starting around June/July 2024. We are a remote-friendly company, meaning you can work from home or any location in the Netherlands you want.

even though we are remote-friendly, we can only hire interns that are enrolled at an EU university and live in the Netherlands/are open to moving to the Netherlands, and hold a Dutch citizen service number (BSN).

What this role looks like

As the Email & CRM Intern you are going to dive deep into the world of emails, customer journeys and nurture flows. You will work closely with different specialists in the marketing team and try your hand at project management with setting up the monthly newsletter. You will be supervised by the Content Marketing Team Lead.

Your key tasks

Creating email campaigns

• Gather input from stakeholders in the Content Team, Product and Partnerships

• Work with Project Owners to develop email marketing for campaigns in different markets

• Draft content for the monthly newsletter and brief the Designer for images with support from the Content Marketing Team Lead

• Manage translations

Building nurture flows

• Work with the Content Team and Marketing Operations to understand the needs of the audience in the customer journey and help develop audience segmentations

• Support in developing and building nurturing strategies

• Building emails in Marketing Cloud and ensuring creative and technical consistency

• Collaborate with the Content Team to draft the content and manage translations

Monitoring performance

• Gather data and report on email performance to the Content Marketing Team Lead and Performance Team Lead.

• Assist in interpreting email data and formulating improvements together with the Content Team Lead Marketing Operations Specialist

• Work together with Marketing Operations and the Content Team Lead to set up A/B testing and report on results.

Content Creation

• With your native knowledge of Spanish, Dutch or German, you will assist Project Owners in developing, translating and localizing content for different marketing initiatives, such as for example blogs, social media or PR.

What you bring to the Marketing team

• Are a technologically minded 3rd or 4th year student (HBO/WO) in the EU pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

• Have a strong interest in digital marketing, customer communication, and email marketing, and preferably you have some hands-on experience.

• Have good English writing and communication skills, plus native level Spanish, Dutch, or German.

• Are familiar with email marketing software or are a quick study.

• Have an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.

• Are organized, like to work systematically, and enjoying diving into details.

• Are curious, flexible and like working together in an international team.

• Bonus points if you have a basic knowledge of UTMs and an affinity for fitness and technology.
