Position: Director, Earned Media (Health Agency)

Earned Media Director (Healthcare Agency)

We’re hiring for an agency partner seeking a future‑forward Earned Media Director with deep healthcare experience. This role is responsible for driving high‑impact earned media that builds reputations, shapes opinion, and motivates action across life sciences, public health, and health technology clients.

This position blends strategic counsel with hands‑on execution—leading media relations, developing compelling healthcare narratives, and integrating earned media seamlessly into broader omnichannel campaigns. The ideal candidate bridges traditional PR with modern digital earned strategies, including thought leadership, organic buzz, and influencer amplification.

This is a full‑time, hybrid role requiring in‑office collaboration two days per week and remote work three days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead earned media strategy and execution for healthcare, life sciences, and health tech clients
  • Secure high‑quality coverage across national, trade, consumer, local, broadcast, and digital outlets
  • Develop compelling story angles, press materials, and targeted media lists
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on major news moments such as regulatory milestones, public health initiatives, and corporate announcements
  • Integrate earned media into broader paid and owned strategies to drive measurable impact
  • Support crisis communications with sound judgment and steady leadership
  • Leverage modern tools, platforms, and reporting approaches to demonstrate earned media ROI
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of earned media experience
  • Healthcare agency experience required
  • Proven success securing meaningful, high‑impact media coverage
  • Strong healthcare storytelling skills across areas such as oncology, women’s health, mental health, cardiology, rare disease, health policy, or related fields
  • Strategic thinker who is also comfortable executing and “rolling up sleeves”
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to clearly articulate the value of earned media within integrated campaigns
