Part-time Position
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for Signature Health
CARE for positive press and approved communications. - Responsible for securing and amplifying earned media that highlights Signature’s Life Enrichment programs, hospital partnerships, new developments, and innovations.
- Support crisis and sensitive situations by coordinating approved messaging developed by Signature’s Legal and Executive teams.
- Work closely with Life Enrichment, Social Media, Marketing, Operations, and Legal to ensure all external communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with Signature’s brand and values.
- Serve as Signature Health
CARE’s designated spokesperson for positive press opportunities. - Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and trade media outlets.
- Pitch and secure earned media stories highlighting:
- Life Enrichment initiatives (Signature Olympics, Reflect N Us, and similar programs)
- Hospital partnerships and care transitions
- New developments, expansions, and specialty services
- Prepare talking points and messaging for leadership and media engagements.
- Partner closely with the Life Enrichment team to identify compelling stories.
- Translate resident, stakeholder, and program experiences into press-ready narratives.
- Develop PR campaigns and media outreach around Signature-led programs and events.
- Support communications related to hospital partnerships and joint initiatives.
- Coordinate press outreach and announcements in collaboration with partners.
- Ensure consistent, approved messaging that protects Signature’s brand and relationships.
- Create and execute PR campaigns around:
- New facility openings and developments
- Program launches and service expansions
- Awards, recognitions, and organizational milestones
- Work closely with the Social Media and Marketing teams to extend earned media across digital channels.
- Write and manage press releases for Signature Health
CARE. - Distribute press releases using Meltwater
- Track coverage and coordinate reporting on earned media results.
- Support crisis or sensitive situations by:
- Reporting on emerging issues
- Coordinating media responses using approved messaging provided by Legal and Executive leadership
- Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries during these situations, ensuring all communications strictly follow legal guidance.
- 5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or brand storytelling.
- Healthcare, senior living, or nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
- Proven success securing earned media.
- Experience serving as a spokesperson or media liaison.
- Strong writing and campaign development skills.
- Familiarity with press release distribution platforms (Meltwater experience a plus; training provided).
- Ability to operate confidently within legal and regulatory guardrails.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.
