AboutThe Role
The Trade Marketing Manager will serve as the key connector between melin’s Marketing and Sales teams, leading the strategy, execution and optimization of all trade marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for driving sell-in and sell-through at our wholesale and retail partners by building strong relationships, creating impactful in-store programs, delivering best-in-class tools and supporting curated events to support account growth.
The Trade Marketing Manager ensures melin shows up in a premium and elevated way consistently across all channels.
- Build and execute melin’s trade marketing strategy in alignment with the GTM calendar, including product launches and brand campaigns
- Partner with Sales to develop and drive sell-in programs curated for a diverse account base
- Develop strong relationships with melin’s Sales Rep team and the buyers, merchandisers, decision-makers and associates at our wholesale partners
- Manage customer retailer marketing initiatives such as co-op ad spend, promotions, sell-through programs and account-specific campaigns
- Develop and distribute sales tools such as, but not limited to, catalogs, line sheets, training decks, GTM briefs and product knowledge sheets
- Develop and implement our retail footprint strategy inclusive of fixtures, displays, POP/POS in alignment with Sales and Creative
- Lead brand and product training for sales reps, account staff and retail associates to elevate brand storytelling and points of differentiation
- Own and execute all in-store branding initiatives
- Lead tradeshow strategy and execution, including booth design, logistics, asset creation and cross-functional coordination to ensure strong brand presence and impactful retailer engagement
- Assist in strategy, execution, and logistics of all melin related events, both trade and consumer facing
- Own a direct line of communication with melin’s outside sales reps, distributing weekly updates and status reports on product launches, available assets, current projects, general marketing updates and more
- Manage and own the direct line of communication for melin’s marketing efforts with international distributors
- Facilitate a direct line of communication with wholesale accounts sharing new product launches, campaigns, event and community updates, sales tools and more
- Manage and track annual and monthly Trade Marketing budget, including forecasting and allocation of resources
- Develop KPI’s and ROI analysis of all retail investments
- Conduct market analysis of trade activities, constant trends, competitor and retailer data points, shopping habits and marketing opportunities
- Own relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborators
- 5-7 years of Trade or Retail Marketing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field
- Proven success building and executing Trade Marketing programs that deliver measurable results
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and personal skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once, extremely organized and communicative
- Experience in action sports, adventure sports, fitness genres and retail environments
- Proficiency in tools, such as Rep Spark and Asana
- Ability to travel 30% of the time domestically
This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in San Clemente, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. Subject to change without notice as per company guidelines.
CompensationThe salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
