Position Summary
The Copywriting and Marketing Specialist serves as a critical member of the Graduate & Online Marketing team, ensuring project timelines are met, and inbound/outbound communications‑including professional copywriting‑align with established brand guidelines to drive student enrollment. Remote work eligible.
- Copywriting & Communication Design:
Draft, edit, and proofread high‑impact copy for “outbound” and “inbound” channels, including departmental CRM email drip campaigns, SMS nurtures, landing page content, inbound, and promotional brochures. Ensure a consistent, persuasive voice across all platforms. - Inbound Strategy and Implementation:
Architect inbound strategies that drive organic web traffic. Your focus is developing high‑authority content optimized for the modern search landscape, including SEO (traditional search), GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization). - Market Research:
Research and help apply best practices for digital marketing; analyze keyword performance and competitor strategies; interpret data from paid and organic campaigns to recommend technical or content pivots. - Collaborative Strategy:
Contribute creative and technical ideas for social media and departmental objectives, ranging from initial lead generation to student retention initiatives. - Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for various audiences (academic, professional, etc.).
- A working knowledge of SEO/GEO/AEO strategies and how they impact website traffic.
- Working knowledge of market research.
- Ability to interpret data and determine actionable next steps for marketing improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
- Experience in Higher Education marketing or recruitment.
- Creative problem‑solving skills and the ability to research complex audience segments.
This position is contingent on funding. This position works 12 months of the year, paid over 12 months of the year.
