About the role
Loyalty is a cornerstone of the Waitrose business strategy and a top priority for the Partnership. As our Proposition Manager, you will join a team dedicated to transforming how we reward and engage our customers. You will sit at the heart of the Waitrose Loyalty proposition, balancing the "run" of existing schemes with the "build" of future innovations. This is a role for a commercial, data-driven thinker who is passionate about creating memorable customer experiences and is experienced in delivering change at pace.
What you'll be doing:
- Proposition Development & Delivery:
Develop and launch new propositions while ensuring robust annual plans are in place for existing ones - Operational Excellence:
Alongside the Loyalty Operations team, ensure seamless execution and a premium experience for our customers - Strategic Growth:
Support the Senior Manager in defining costs, benefits, and OKRs, using a growth mindset to constantly innovate - Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management:
Navigate and influence teams across Customer, Commercial, Data, Tech, and Comms to bring complex propositions to life

At a glance:
- Salary Band: £45,000. per annum
- Salary up to:
Up £55,000 per annum based on skill and experience - Contract type:
This is a 12 month secondment/FTC opportunity until March 2027 - Hours and location of the role:
- 35 hours per week
- Your home location will be our Bracknell Head Office
- The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team attend the office 2 days a week to connect and attend key meetings on more of an ad-hoc basis
Key responsibilities:
- Lead proposition development and delivery plan for a number of proposition(s)
- Delivering projects at pace, on time and on budget
- Support the Strategy & Proposition Senior Manager with briefing and delivery of marketing communication for propositions
- Regularly report on the success of the proposition and communicate this within the business, identifying opportunities to optimise and increase performance
- Accountable for the ongoing run of a selection of loyalty propositions, ensuring plans are in place for the ongoing development and delivery of those propositions
- Briefing and delivery of marketing communication for propositions including digital touchpoints, CRM, instore, PR and wider customer comms
- A keen interest in the external Loyalty market, bringing that knowledge back into the team
- Identifies data trends and customer insights to provide a basis for propositional development, always thinking customer first
- Supports the development of capabilities which will deliver an enriched and growing customer database
Essential skills and/or experience you'll need:
- Can demonstrate working within Loyalty teams with strong demonstrated interest
- Experience of working in a fast paced environment with multiple work streams running at once
- Experience of developing and innovating brand or retail propositions
- Can demonstrate technical skills in customer strategy and proposition
- Can demonstrate strong commercial awareness
- Operationally strong, able to run existing propositions within the business
- Experience working within cross-functional project teams, stepping into leadership roles on some projects
- Evidence of strong written and verbal communication
- Experience working with insight and analytics
Desirable skills and/or experience you may have:
- Experience of working with business cases, benefit delivery and tracking
- Experience working with Technology teams
