Country Grocer is looking for a creative and reliable
Part-Time Social Media Coordinator to help elevate our online presence, support customer engagement, and contribute to marketing initiatives. As a proudly family-owned and operated Vancouver Island business, our social media highlights local pride, community connection, and people-first values.
This role is ideal for someone who understands social platforms, communicates confidently, and knows how to engage thoughtfully and professionally in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and publish social media content across platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
- Monitor comments and messages and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and respectful manner
- Maintain Country Grocer’s community-focused, family-oriented brand voice
- Create and update basic social graphics using established brand guidelines
- Support promotions, seasonal campaigns, and one-off marketing initiatives
- Assist with and attend marketing events as required
- Identify recurring customer questions, trends, or issues and share insights with the marketing team
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure consistent messaging
- Experience using social media platforms is required
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Spark, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field would be an asset
- Ability to respond calmly and professionally to challenging comments or inquiries
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- This is a primarily remote position with a target schedule of:
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
- Saturday and Sunday : 10:00 – 2 pm
(Approximately 24 hours per week)
- Availability during these hours is required; weekend availability is required
- Occasional in-person attendance at the Royal Oak office may be required for meetings, collaboration, or training
- In-person and outdoor work may be required to support marketing events, promotions, or community initiatives such as holiday parades
- A reliable internet connection and suitable remote work environment are required
- Flexibility will be required during peak marketing periods or special events
Starting Range: $20–$24 per hour
Most new team members in this position start within this range, based on experience and skill level.
Growth Range:
Up to $28 per hour
There is opportunity for wage growth over time, with increases tied to annual performance reviews.
