Job Description

Activation Manager – Chewy leads and owns Onsite and Offsite Media, including supporting Search Strategy within the total Chewy Media Network and Platforms. They manage the Chewy Ads Team relationship and work closely with the Mars Chewy account team to define and deliver activation plans, including Onsite and Offsite Media, Onsite Merch placements, Onsite Search, and target audience group definition. They are the leader and single point for all Chewy Activation and Strategy, and collaborate with our Media Agency (who supports them on media trafficking and content production), Brand Managers, and National Media Managers to deliver integrated full‑funnel plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the relationship with the retailer’s marketing ads team, including frequent connects and correspondence to ensure synced strategy and execution.
  • Lead and develop the retailer marketing calendar and activations, including retailer onsite media, targeted offers, and offsite media to deliver against Sales Targets and Media KPIs.
  • Support Search Strategy and Execution, keyword and audience strategies as part of holistic Activation Strategy.
  • Manage the agency that supports the account, including program briefs for content production, campaign trafficking/execution, and optimizations.
  • Stay in close contact with customer account team to integrate and align on priorities, programs, and campaigns.
  • Own the activation component of retailer Joint Planning and Business Reviews.
  • Manage and own the Budget /allocation process across brands, techs, hero SKUs; manage the budget in close contact with finance partner, ensuring proper visibility.
  • Designated POC for any customer BTL spends (e.g., content production, data costs).
  • Own, track progress against, and provide learnings from test & learn agenda.
  • Provide timely activation updates, including periodic share‑outs on Retail Media Network /Activation Performance with leadership and team.
  • Collaborate with marketing and Sales Strategy teams to deliver against full‑funnel marketing campaigns and Innovation Launch Planning.
  • Assess and identify risks and opportunities for incremental funding when relevant, including building blocks from activation support.
  • Responsible for the retailer’s plan integration with National Marketing/Recruitment functions (Briefs, Spend Pacing, etc.).
  • Support as business user for Data and Analytics team tool development when relevant (e.g., building/improving a search and media tool with global tech support).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a Related Field.
  • 3+ Years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, and/or Search & Media for Fast‑Moving Consumer Good Industries.
  • Knowledge of Media management fundamentals, budgeting, You Tube/Meta/etc., Search, and Agency Management.
  • Customer‑facing sales experience preferred.
  • Availability to travel up to 25%.
