Senior Director:
Corporate Communications and PR (Remote)

At Edelman Financial Engines (EFE), our purpose is to guide people with the financial advice they need to thrive.

We believe that every dollar saved represents a lifetime of hard work and aspirations, and every dollar invested has a job to do for our clients. That’s why we are committed to managing our clients’ investments by truly understanding them as people first and then delivering advice, strategies and solutions to help them feel confident about the plans they are making, whether for today, tomorrow, or in the great unknown future.

Our goal is to build long‑term relationships based on respect, integrity, and a belief that our responsibility is to help people make smart investment decisions in every stage of their lives.

Our culture is grounded in our CORE values:
Client First, One Team, Respectful Candor, and Endless Curiosity. These values guide everything we do, for our clients and each other. We are committed to moving forward together. If you are inspired by purpose‑driven work and a collaborative, values‑led culture, we invite you to explore a career with us.

We’re seeking a Senior Director, Corporate Communications & PR. This role is central to elevating our brand, protecting and enhancing our corporate reputation, and advancing broader awareness of a market‑leading, client‑centric firm entering an exciting new chapter.

As a senior member of the Brand and Corporate Communications team, you’ll craft clear, compelling narratives that honor our legacy, highlight our innovation, and instill confidence during the moments that matter. You’ll partner closely with executives and subject matter experts across the organization to deliver proactive, creative, and integrated communications that support growth, strengthen trust, and extend our reach to new audiences.

You’ll bring strategic rigor, editorial excellence, sound judgement, and an agile, collaborative approach to shape how the world understands who we are today — and where we’re headed.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee enterprise‑level strategic communications and PR strategies that translate business priorities into impactful narratives, support growth objectives, and protect and advance the firm’s reputation.
  • Lead communications around strategic developments and corporate announcements, shaping narratives that reinforce the firm’s position, strategy, and long‑term value to clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Counsel and collaborate with senior leaders and cross‑functional partners to ensure corporate communications efforts are timely, relevant, and risk‑aware.
  • Elevate executive visibility, developing platforms and thought leadership that strengthen the firm’s perspective and reinforce its industry leadership.
  • Serve as senior media relations strategist and spokesperson, cultivating key journalist relationships, representing the firm in media interactions, preparing executives for public and press engagements, and advancing a strong, credible market presence and driving high‑impact coverage.
  • Support crisis and issues communication, supporting rapid response, advising senior executives, and ensuring consistent, risk‑smart communications during sensitive and evolving situations.
  • Measure performance and drive continuous improvement, using analytics, media insights, and stakeholder feedback to optimize PR programs and enhance awareness, sentiment, and reputation.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive PR and corporate communications experience, with a blend of in‑house and agency roles; financial services, consumer finance, and/or wealth/asset management experience strongly preferred.
  • Extensive and hands‑on experience in media relations, message development, and corporate reputation management, spokesperson experience strongly preferred.
  • Compelling and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
  • An agile, creative, and strategic approach to work, problem‑solving, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to deliver results under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
