Overview
As a Senior RCN Officer, you'll use your positive attitude, knowledge of nursing and employment relations, and your ability to influence for change and engage with, and on behalf of, RCN members, to protect and improve their pay, terms, and conditions of employment. As part of the team of Senior Officers in the region you'll use your enthusiasm, positive thinking, and management skills to support our local team.
Every day will be filled with possibilities as you find new ways to manage and support the development of your team. Taking care of our members will be your primary role, but you'll also see the possibilities that new members can bring. A key part of what you do will be to suggest innovative approaches to grow our membership. It s a job full of possibilities;
you could get involved in developing and delivering the RCN services across the region, and a range of sectors. We ll look to you to coordinate opportunities and responses to consultations, planning and coordinating/implementing necessary actions to ensure that RCN members and staff are fully supported as changes to pay, terms and conditions are negotiated and come into place.

- Develop and deliver the RCN services across the region and across a range of sectors.
- Manage and support the development of your team and provide member-focused support.
- Suggest innovative approaches to grow RCN membership and engage with potential new members.
- Experienced in strategic working at a senior level with trade unions, employers, employer organisations and statutory bodies.
- Expert in working with a wide range of stakeholders; deep understanding and knowledge of nursing employment relations issues.
- Ability to foster strong professional relationships and encourage close collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
- Efficient, accurate, and member-focused in all you do.
- Passionate professional with ambition for change in support of RCN members.
- Competitive pay structure with annual pay progression until the top of the salary scale; starting salary for new employees depending on skills, experience, and current salary.
- Flexible working enabling work-life balance; hybrid working model with up to 60% remote work and at least 40% in person.
