Director, Product Management - Carmel, IN (Hybrid) - Remote Colorado

Job Summary

The Director, Product Management provides strategic leadership and management to the electronics product category for the Locks & Access Solutions SBU and oversees the development and execution of product strategies that align with the overall SBU strategy to meet customer and market needs. This role drives development and implementation of innovative strategies to optimize the product portfolio, ensuring resources are allocated toward the best opportunities to achieve business goals.

The Director uses leadership, communication, analytical skills, and business acumen to maximize growth, development, and return on investment of the product portfolio through leadership of the team and partnerships with stakeholders.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for the product strategy and product roadmap for the product category, ensuring alignment across the organization including software; develops strategic and operational goals and execution plans
  • Focuses on optimizing product processes, improvements, and quality across the category; seeks input, influences, and aligns with leaders at all levels regarding prioritization of product initiatives for the category, SBU and Allegion
  • Maintains expert knowledge of markets and channels, including B2B customer needs, industry trends, and go-to-market strategy; evaluates PRDs, competitive landscape & market opportunities to inform decisions
  • Drives development of comprehensive business cases and new opportunities with strong business and financial acumen
  • Influences decisions by SBU General Manager & senior leadership; assists with long-range plans, annual operating plans, and other strategic plans
  • Assesses performance of product line(s) through financial metrics & KPIs; prioritizes investments, projects, and activities to position the category for profitable improvement
  • Leads with strong relationships and broad influence to align others toward shared goals; proactively identifies conflicts and partners with stakeholders to resolve them
  • Communicates with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance
  • Direct management responsibility for a team accountable for performance management, providing actionable feedback, development, engagement, and resource allocation
Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or technical field
  • Experience leading the development of strategy, gaining alignment, and executing through collaboration and partnerships
  • Strong indirect leadership and influencing skills within a matrix organization
  • Strong business and financial acumen with ability to identify opportunities and threats and lead action plans
