Location: Oxford offices / flexible to work from home within the UK with the ability to meet in the Oxford office when needed and travel as required. Regular travel for project delivery across the UK.

Salary: Starting from £30,588 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Flexible and part time options will be considered.

You will be the central point of contact for multiple internal and external stakeholders. You will ideally have experience in working with local authorities, corporates, communities and/or schools. You will be required to travel to project sites across the UK to support with delivery of community and school events. You will be effective at planning and working to agreed / developing processes to deliver results, demonstrating collaborative working across different partners, internal teams and functions.

You are able to set and communicate priorities effectively and deliver project objectives to time and budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Role purpose: To manage projects and work with the wider Earthwatch team to deliver projects to time, budget and required mission standard.

  • Manage the planning and delivery of projects in line with agreed project objectives, timelines, budgets and Earthwatch project management procedures.
  • Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery including funders, landowners, research partners and community organisations.
  • Create and feed into detailed project delivery plans, and associated processes to enable integrated delivery with internal and external project partners.
  • Manage budgets, contracting and payment processes in line with Earthwatch financial processes.
  • Oversee project risk management, compiling documentation in line with Earthwatch processes. Work with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and mitigate risk.
  • Be part of the core delivery team visiting project locations for planting, science and engagement activities across the UK, engaging with local communities and schools.
  • Coordinate across teams to achieve success, assigning tasks and responsibilities, overcoming challenges, promoting good communication within the team and with key stakeholders.
  • Work with the project and communications teams to ensure compelling communications for external audiences. Ability to be interviewed and effectively communicate about Earthwatch.
  • Ongoing quality control, status reporting and tracking of milestones and deliverables, and completion of reports according to agreed monitoring frameworks with partners.
  • Supporting other organisational priorities as required, with focus in the Cities Programme.

REQUIREMENTS

Personal Specification:

  • Experience in managing projects and programmes through the whole project cycle.
  • Personal enthusiasm for engaging people and organisations to build the knowledge and action required to address key environmental issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and manage productive relationships with colleagues, including working with virtual teams across regions.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and track record of effective partnership management, delivering a consistent high level of customer care and responsiveness.
