Position Overview:
The Manager of Truckload is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building, growing, and managing a profitable Truckload department. You'll recruit and develop a high-performing team, win new customers, drive revenue and margin growth, and contribute to the company's overall management team. Success requires rolling up your sleeves, leading by example, and delivering results in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead department growth by onboarding large, profitable truckload accounts and expanding business with existing customers. Coach, train, and mentor Logistics Account Managers and Team Leads to hit revenue, margin, and activity targets. Oversee RFP processes, rate negotiations, client programs, and carrier relationships. Build and maintain a rigorous carrier vetting program to eliminate fraud risk. Collaborate across teams to ensure timely load execution, maximum profitability, and continuous improvement.
Deliver accurate monthly forecasts, performance reports, and analytics to leadership. Recruit top talent (including an A-player Account Executive in year two) and establish SOPs/KPIs. Required Experience &
Qualifications:
5+ years of Truckload management experience in transportation brokerage, with proven success growing profitable teams and revenue. Multi-mode knowledge (Truckload, LTL, OTR Expedite, etc.). Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and financial acumen (P&L management, forecasting). Comfortable with technology, data-driven decisions, and remote work. Willing to travel occasionally and work after-hours/weekends as needed for customers. Performance Focus:
