PositionObjective:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the firm’s day‑to‑day operational functions, reporting to the firm Management Committee. Ideally, the candidate will have proven executive‑level leadership experience in a law firm or professional services setting. The candidate will play a crucial role in steering the strategic direction of the firm, providing leadership and guidance in the management and growth of the firm.
FinancialManagement:
Work closely with the firm Management Committee to develop and execute strategies aimed at profitability and operational financial health. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and accounting providing insight to better inform decision‑making.
Operational Management:Evaluate, recommend, and implement processes aimed at improving technology (IT), marketing, and professional administrative support including accounting, finance, human resources, and docketing. Work with firms pension plan group and serve as plan administrator.
Business Development/Marketing:Work with the Director of Business Development and Marketing on strategies targeting revenue growth, client retention, and firm branding.
Compliance andRisk Management:
Work with firms insurance brokers to secure competitive liability and malpractice insurance and employee health insurance.
Effective Communication:Ability to communicate financial and operational information effectively to firm management. Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, accountability across all firm levels.
Experience:Minimum of 10 years of executive‑level experience in a law firm. Recent law firm experience within the past five years is preferred. Proven ability to lead by example, build and manage relationships among all levels. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; high attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree is required; (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with work experience. Insurance benefits, and 401(k) plan are provided. This is a hybrid or remote position. Some travel is required.
