Job Description

UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) addresses gender equality and women’s empowerment challenges in the Asia-Pacific region, including deeply embedded discriminatory social norms and practices that perpetuate inequalities based on gender and other intersectional identities (e.g. ethnicity, class, region, age, disability, migratory status, and sexual orientation and gender identity, among others). The Regional Office works across the following areas:
Governance and Inter-governmental support (including on Gender Statistics);
Women’s Economic Empowerment (including Migration, Ending Violence Against Women; Women, Peace and Security; Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Action). The UN Women Asia Pacific Regional Office oversees and manages programming in programme presences, provides strategic guidance, technical support, and oversight to country and multi-country offices across the region. To ensure the organization remains fit-for-purpose, agile, and aligned with its strategic priorities, UN Women will undertake a functional and structural review across its Asia Pacific operations. Under the overall guidance from the Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director, and under the daily operational oversight of the Regional HR Business Partner (HRBP), and in close collaboration with the Head of Business Units, the consultant will provide expertise and services to Offices/Units across the Asia and the Pacific Region, on Organizational Design, through functional review to ensure alignment of the office strategy, office typology, structure and TORs, processes and SOPs, capacity and skills, as well as the working environment.
