This position leads internal audit and advisory services for a designated specialty area, overseeing strategic, financial, operational, and IT audits, including special projects. You’ll assess the effectiveness of business controls, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance while serving as a trusted partner to the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee internal audit and advisory engagements, including SOX, operational, and special projects
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to audit staff and contractors, ensuring audit objectives, scope, and quality standards are met
- Review, approve, and sign off on audit work papers and reports in accordance with IIA and departmental standards
- Oversee complex and high‑visibility audits from planning through reporting
- Partner with the Audit Management Team to support enterprise risk assessments and ensure audit plans focus on highest‑risk areas
- Develop and approve project risk assessments, audit objectives, scope, and audit programs
- Lead or contribute to department‑wide initiatives and cross‑functional special projects
- Mentor and develop audit leaders across the IAAS organization
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource deployment across multiple engagements
- Drive efficient use of audit resources and span of control across teams
- Partner with Directors to shape segment risk strategy and establish audit priorities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in internal audit, public accounting, or relevant business roles
- Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk assessment, and internal controls
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high‑performing teams
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across levels
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- A results‑oriented mindset with a desire to make a meaningful impact
- CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or similar certification
- Deep understanding of risk management and internal control frameworks
- Experience in health insurance, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries
- Exposure to complex IT or information systems environments
- Provider or healthcare operations experience
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and change leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full‑time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
