** Position Description
** The mission of the Anoka County Economic Assistance Department is to provide effective services that uphold dignity and promote self-sufficiency. As the Manager of Public Assistance, you will play a critical leadership role in advancing this mission by overseeing the efficient delivery of public assistance programs and front-line services.

This position is responsible for managing a diverse team of public assistance employees and coordinating operations throughout the department. You will lead strategic initiatives to improve service delivery, implement new and changing programs and policies, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This role also requires a balance of operational expertise, strategic planning, and people leadership to ensure programs meet performance standards and community needs.

** Pay & Benefits
*** Salary: $98,176.00 to $ ($47.20 to $56.63 per hour)
* Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 38: $98,176.00 to $ ($47.20 to $66.05 per hour)

** Work Location
*** This position will work at the Blaine Human Service Center, located at 1201 89th Ave Ne, Blaine, MN 55434.
* This position is currently designated for hybrid remote work. The employee may be required to come onsite one to two times per week, or as needed.
* Expected work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., flexible scheduling opportunities may be available.
** Job Duties and Responsibilities*

** Manage operations for assigned programs. Set priorities, goals and outcomes for the public assistance department and ensure compliance with statutory mandates and program requirements.
* Plan, design and implement programs and services. Lead the department through ever-changing public assistance policies and procedural changes.
* Conduct research on community needs and changes in legislation.
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer service and performance.
* Facilitate strategic planning for projects, budgets, technology and implementation of new programs. Collect and analyze program data.
* Provide reports and present to the appropriate stakeholders on any program changes, changes in workload, and potential problems or concerns.
* Serve as a liaison to promote and initiate effective service coordination and delivery.
