Job Title:
Project Manager - Power Utilities
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the execution of large-scale projects ranging from $2M to $50M. The role involves interpreting contractual language, managing project scope, schedule, budget, and risk, as well as coordinating material and labor procurement for transmission and distribution projects.
Responsibilities- Successfully execute multi-year, multi-million dollar transmission and distribution construction projects, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget.
- Adhere to project management standards for project schedules, cash flows, work breakdown structures, stakeholder management, and risk identification and mitigation.
- Coordinate activities across internal and external stakeholders, ensuring project milestones are met and conflicts are resolved.
- Develop specifications and scopes of work for contracted activities, ensuring completion per specifications and contracts.
- Negotiate scopes of work with supply chain and minimize change orders.
- Execute construction activities efficiently with the Construction Management team.
- Manage the collection and tracking of all costs associated with the portfolio of projects, providing detailed cost breakdowns for project meetings and PMO reporting.
- Define material requirements and assist with procurement for cost development and operational readiness.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment requirements and consult with the supply chain for spending efficiencies.
- Experience in transmission and distribution, high voltage construction management, and project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Engineering required;
Master's degree preferred. - 3‑5 years of project management and construction management experience with multi‑million dollar projects.
- Experience with electric utility projects preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP; familiarity with Oracle P6 and Copperleaf C55.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- PMP certification strongly preferred.
- Understanding of contracting approaches for engineering and construction activities.
- Knowledge of purchasing policies and vendor selection criteria.
- Continuous improvement mindset with an understanding of basic CI methodology and business process management.
The work schedule is typically Monday to Friday at the Service Building, Dayton, OH office, but may include weekends, holidays, and irregular hours. Flexibility is offered for remote work on certain days.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
