The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to establish and maintain a comprehensive functional governance and policy framework that ensures a safe, controlled, and enabling workplace environment across the organization. This role will drive continuous improvement in policy, risk, and governance practices to enhance the employee experience and align with global obligations while advocating for ongoing enhancements. Additionally, the role will manage the function's business reporting pipeline and develop necessary reports and updates for the GEC and Board as needed.

Your new role
  • Establish and embed a Risk culture, process and way of working amongst the relevant Function.
  • Establish a clear cadence for the Group Executive Committee (GEC) and Board reporting for the relevant function.
  • Work as the primary interface into the Group Risk function on behalf of the Function.
  • Work across the function's Leadership Teams to build an effective view of relevant risks.
  • Support the function's Leadership Teams in the development of effective risk management and contingency planning exercises.
  • Establish a strong partnership with the Group Compliance team to establish and embed a group-wide policy framework within the function.
  • Lead COE teams to identify gaps in the policy framework and support the development of new functional policy.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and apply influencing negotiation, and consultation skills.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and the relevant function to provide specialist and best practice advice on policy, risk and compliance.
Preferred Work Experience includes
  • Experience working in large, complex corporate environments.
  • Active stakeholder engagement.
  • Delivery of large-scale policy, risk and compliance change initiatives from start to finish.
Compensation Package

The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full‑time and part‑time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
