Job Description

The University of Notre Dame, founded in 1842, is a premier American research university that blends faith with intellectual inquiry. As a Catholic institution, Notre Dame seeks to advance a strategic priority centered on applied and virtue ethics, including AI ethics and the love ethic. The Regional Network Program Director for Silicon Valley will help build high‑impact programs that assist corporate, faith, non‑profit, and educational leaders in tackling ethically complex issues and will lead a network‑building campaign to elevate Notre Dame’s reputation in AI ethics.

Key Responsibilities
  • DELTA Framework Dissemination & Resource Development – 10%

Develop resources for three communities of practice: educators, pastoral leaders, and the general public. Promote, manage, and disseminate DELTA‑related materials; track usage and collect community feedback to improve the framework.

  • Regional Convenings, Events & Public Engagement – 35%

Create and lead a regional convening strategy that shapes discourse on AI ethics and human flourishing. Organize invitation‑only salons, workshops, large‑scale conferences, and public forums, curating speakers, themes, and partnerships. Lead an annual flagship convening to set the regional agenda on DELTA and AI, and engage media and public audiences to strengthen Notre Dame’s reputation.

  • Strategic Leadership, Design & Management – 45%

Develop a comprehensive regional engagement strategy to build, grow, and sustain a network of 200+ stakeholders—including educators, technologists, faith leaders, young adults, and community partners. Serve as senior ambassador for Notre Dame and ECG, represent the university with executive‑level credibility, and provide strategic oversight for collaborative initiatives aligned with the DELTA framework.

  • Institutional Alignment & Reporting – 10%

Coordinate with ECG colleagues and Notre Dame partners to align regional activities with institutional priorities. Manage the regional budget, maintain communication with Institute leadership, and support reporting requirements for the Lilly grant.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5‑6 years of professional experience with an advanced degree or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in technology and its impact on human beings.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership experience, including setting direction, developing long‑term plans, and guiding complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and external partners, shaping agendas, and driving decision‑making across institutional and regional contexts.
  • Significant experience building relationship‑driven networks and planning/executing complex, multi‑stakeholder events or convenings.
  • Highly relational with strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills across diverse audiences, including faith communities.
  • Ability to manage a fast‑paced environment, remain agile, and pivot quickly when needed.
  • Strong self‑starter who works independently, manages time effectively, and takes initiative.
  • Collaboration and teamwork are essential.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the West Coast region, attend quarterly trips to Notre Dame’s main campus, and travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • High tolerance for a remote work setting when not traveling.
