About the Role:

We are looking for a finance professional that thrives in an environment where solutions, initiative, and forward thinking are essential. Reporting to the COO, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing finance, HR, legal, and IT across a growing organization. The ideal candidate will think beyond the numbers to contribute to the overall business strategy, analyzing margins, identifying growth opportunities, and helping shape the company’s future direction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings focused on performance, future direction and growth.
  • Contribute meaningfully to strategic planning and long-term organizational development.
  • Support expansion initiatives across markets and product lines.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Oversee financial operations and collaborate with external service providers.
  • Analyze financial performance to identify margin improvements and growth opportunities.
Legal Administration & Governance
  • Manage legal agreements and documentation.
  • Ensure contracts are updated, compliance is maintained, and legal matters are properly coordinated.
  • Oversee HR strategy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with external HR consultants on higher-level HR matters.
  • Support policy development and future team expansion.
IT, Information Management & AI
  • Provide oversight on IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and information management practices.
  • Support the integration and oversight of AI initiatives where applicable.
  • Ensure systems support operational scalability.
Qualifications &

Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in senior financial or administrative leadership roles.
What We’re Looking For:

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and eager to build something meaningful.
  • Strong communicator with excellent listening skills and cultural alignment.
  • Comfortable in a hands-on leadership role within a growing organization.
Nice to Have:
  • CPA designation or related financial certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Bilingual (English/French) proficiency is strongly preferred to support Quebec operations and interactions with Revenue Quebec.
  • Industry experience in distribution, marine, or recreation.

This position is remote-friendly and can be based anywhere from Manitoba eastwards with the option to work from home, or from one of four locations:
Kenora, ON;
Orillia, ON;
Richelieu, QC; or Charlottetown, PE.

Minimal travel throughout the four locations is occasionally expected approximately 4 – 6 times per year.
