Senior Manager - Substation - REMOTE
Job Description

As a Substation Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the substation department, nurturing the professional growth of your team, and effectively communicating metrics and statuses to the Delivery Manager and clients. You will provide leadership and direction, ensuring that all projects meet their Cost, Quality, and Timing metrics while also contributing to business growth and workflow execution.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee the Substation department, including supervisors, engineers, technologists, designers, and drafters.
+ Provide leadership and mentorship to developing leads and supervisors as needed.
+ Establish, monitor, and maintain quality control standards.
+ Monitor and communicate the health of the project portfolio.
+ Ensure teams adhere to schedules and swiftly address change orders or revisions.
+ Identify client needs and collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth processes.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, addressing opportunities for improvement and resolving challenges efficiently.
+ Liaise with clients on issues and inefficiencies related to execution and resourcing.
+ Drive team development and training.
+ Support business development and operational strategy.
+ Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
+ PE certification required.
+ Ten years of substation experience with progressive responsibilities.
+ Six years of consulting experience interfacing with engineering, construction, planning, and project management.
+ Proven leadership skills managing large teams with diverse skill sets.
+ Experience in execution, risk analysis and management, and monitoring portfolios exceeding $5M in revenue.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Commitment to personal and team development, both technically and professionally.
+ Understanding of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
+ High personal character and integrity.
+ Team player with the ability to work in a highly cross-functional and virtual environment.
+ Extensive experience in managing business finances.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficiency in project coordination, project management, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
+ Experience in administrative support, change order management, project administration, and document control.
+ Skill in using Excel pivot tables.

This is a Permanent position based out of Birmingham, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
