Position OverviewAs Spiro continues its impressive growth as part of the GES Collective, we are hiring an Associate Account Director to join our Brand Activation & Events (BAE) team. The Associate Account Director serves as a client-facing leader responsible for managing key clients (or sub-portions of larger accounts), working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (creative, production, strategy, project management). In this role, you will be responsible for driving strategic planning, project delivery, risk management, financial stewardship and overall executional excellence.
ResponsibilitiesClient Leadership & Account Stewardship
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact on assigned programs or sub-portions of larger accounts, building trusted and proactive relationships.
- Translate client business objectives and experiential goals into actionable program strategies and executional plans.
- Provide consistent client communication, ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and alignment throughout all phases of delivery.
- Identify opportunities for incremental growth and added value, partnering with senior leadership on proposals and next-step recommendations.
- Own budget oversight for assigned programs, including estimate development, cost tracking, reconciliation, and margin protection.
- Support senior leaders in forecasting and financial planning across broader portfolios.
- Partner with finance and production to ensure accurate billing, scope alignment, and timely approvals.
- Monitor job costs and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability and avoid scope creep.
- Oversee planning and execution of experiential programs including trade shows, conferences, activations, sponsorship events, and hybrid experiences.
- Collaborate closely with strategy, creative, production, and project management to ensure deliverables are on time, on brand, and within budget.
- Manage third-party vendors and partners with accountability to quality, compliance, and timelines.
- Travel onsite as needed to represent Spiro, support clients, and troubleshoot in real time.
- Mentor and support Account Managers and Coordinators, providing guidance, delegation, and feedback.
- Contribute to building a high-performing team culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
- Champion process improvements that strengthen internal ways of working across disciplines.
- Lead post-event debriefs and recap development, highlighting KPIs, ROI, learnings, and future recommendations.
- Document best practices and insights to strengthen future programming and client retention.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in experiential marketing, events, or integrated agency account leadership.
- Proven ability to independently manage mid-sized programs while supporting senior leaders on larger portfolios.
- Strong financial acumen including estimating, budget stewardship, forecasting, and reconciliation.
- Excellent communicator and confident presenter with strong client relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and adaptable across multiple work streams.
- Willingness to travel approximately 35%.
