We are hiring a full-time Location Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at one of our retail agronomy locations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for facility performance, team management, operational planning, and customer service. The Location Manager will work closely with applicators, drivers, and office staff to ensure efficient scheduling, quality control, and a safe, organized environment.
This role is ideal for someone with leadership experience in ag retail or plant operations who is motivated to lead a team and improve processes.
What You ll DoDaily Operations- Open and close the facility
- Plan and assign daily work for applicators, drivers, and other staff
- Oversee plant cleanliness, inventory levels, and product handling
- Coordinate with other location managers to share equipment and labor resources
- Identify and schedule equipment repairs and maintenance
- Ensure sprayers, tenders, and other equipment are calibrated and functioning properly
- Use agronomy software (e.g., Agvance) to track scheduling, products, and reporting
- Support mixing and loading of liquid and dry fertilizer as needed
- Supervise full-time and seasonal staff
- Review time-off requests and manage scheduling to meet operational needs
- Assist with hiring of CDL drivers and applicators
- Set clear expectations and coach team members
- Promote a safe, respectful, and team-oriented workplace
- Address issues proactively and maintain open communication with staff and HR
- Lead pre-season training for spring and fall
- Collaborate with the home office on employee certifications and safety testing
- Promote compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards
- Reinforce daily awareness of PPE and safety protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in operations or team leadership (agriculture preferred)
- Ability to manage people, prioritize tasks, and make independent decisions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to lead from the front and work alongside the team
- Experience in ag retail or fertilizer/chemical facility operations
- Familiarity with ag software systems (e.g., Agvance)
- Working knowledge of sprayer and tender operations
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment oversight
