You will help position the Directorate as the strategic core of the organisation, ensuring the data strategy, roadmap and corporate priorities are aligned and mutually reinforcing.
Success requires the ability to combine deep technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with teams across the organisation to create a unified approach to data. You will lead through influence, bringing people together to co‑design solutions, embed good practice, and unlock the value of data for decision‑making, performance improvement and service transformation.
You will play a pivotal role in embedding robust data management principles, putting in place clear governance and information‑sharing protocols, and ensuring that high quality, trusted data is consistently used to evidence our improvement journey and inform strategy and continuous improvement.
What you will do:- Develop and lead a corporate data and analytics function
- Facilitate a culture of cooperation, collaboration and data sharing across the council and partners
- Embed robust master data management principles to ensure consistency and quality of data across the council
- Provide leadership to a cross‑council strategy and programme that advances data maturity, transparency and a unified view of performance that informs action
- Lead alignment and oversight of Single View of the Citizen initiatives to ensure integration with the Modern Data Platform (MDP) and strategic data architecture
If you combine a passion for collaboration with an appreciation of the power of data, and you bring strong technical capability, excellent communication skills and a proven track record of leading data transformation in complex organisations, we would love to hear from you. You will be someone who can build relationships at all levels, translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences, and inspire confidence through a transparent, inclusive and partnership‑oriented approach.
