SWCA Environmental Consultants is looking for a Senior or
Principal Environmental Project Manager to join our team in either Arkansas or Oklahoma, reporting into our Arlington, TX office. As a Senior or
Principal Project Manager
, you’ll take charge of high-profile natural resources projects, cultivating strong client relationships, managing multidisciplinary teams, and guiding biological field studies from planning to completion. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring emerging talent and driving new business opportunities that align with your vision and expertise.

In this leadership role, you’ll support a broad array of clients navigating complex environmental challenges related to the Endangered Species Act (ESA),
Clean Water Act (CWA), and other federal, state, and local regulations. Our diverse portfolio spans industries such as electrical transmission, oil & gas,
infrastructure
, land development
, water resources
, and government agencies
—offering a dynamic and rewarding workload.

This is a full-time, salaried position offering a comprehensive benefits package and a distributed (= remote) work model located in Arkansas or Oklahoma.

Applicants that currently do not reside in one of these states will not be considered. Relocation is not available.

This requisition can hire at two levels –

  • Senior Project Manager – Typically with ten (10) years of relevant industry experience and expertise, plus five (5) years of project management experience.
  • Principal Project Manager – Typically with twelve (12) years of relevant industry experience and expertise, plus seven (7) years of project management experience.

What

you will accomplish

Senior and Principal Project Managers have similar job responsibilities, though Principal Project Managers will be accountable for larger, more complicated, and potentially multi-disciplinary projects and pursuits.

  • Develop and manage client relationships, leading business development efforts with both new and existing clients.
  • Expand SWCA’s presence by networking with agencies and industry organizations to grow the state and regional client base in environmental planning, permitting, and natural resource services.
  • Identify and assess sales opportunities, oversee proposal development, and provide strategic recommendations to leadership overseeing Arlington operations.
  • Lead and manage natural resource projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation to completion.
  • Monitor team utilization and balance workloads to maintain efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee the technical execution and financial performance of natural resource projects, ensuring effective coordination with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Proactively manage project scope, schedule, and budget to prevent cost overruns and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Provide technical oversight and prepare reports, including biological resources reports, biological assessments, wetland reports, National Environmental Policy Act documentation, and other natural resources project deliverables related to the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and other regulatory, permitting, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive compliance of safety policies and reporting requirements to ensure overall team safety.
