HII is seeking a Senior Maintenance Leader to join the team. This position will be located in Stirling, Western Australia or Canberra, ACT. The Senior Maintenance Leader will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operations, planning, and system support of Submarine Nuclear (SSN) platforms. This role ensures operational readiness, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience in submarine maintenance and a strong understanding of naval systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop long-term maintenance strategies for SSN operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety protocols.
- Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Manage maintenance schedules and operational readiness.
- Coordinate system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance plans.
- Collaborate with engineering and logistics teams.
- Optimize maintenance procedures for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to defense regulations and operational requirements.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
- 8+ years of experience in submarine maintenance and operations.
- Proven track record of leading maintenance teams in high-stakes environments.
- Strong background in maintenance planning, logistics, and systems engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SSN maintenance, operations, and systems.
- Familiarity with defense-related maintenance planning tools and procedures.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Management, or equivalent.
