The RoleAs the General Manager for Virgin Bet SA, you will be the leader spearheading our entry and growth in the South African market. You will lead all in‑country functions and act as the primary figurehead, driving our vision and local strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Full P&L ownership, responsible for driving profitability, managing budgets, and delivering on financial targets.
- Develop and execute a strategic business plan to establish Virgin Bet as a market leader in South Africa.
- Lead all in‑country functions, including operations, marketing, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution and operational excellence on the ground.
- Act as the primary figurehead and brand ambassador for Virgin Bet in South Africa, representing the company to customers, partners, regulatory bodies, and the media.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing local team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high‑performance.
- Establish relationships with regulatory bodies, partners, and industry stakeholders to support compliance and growth objectives.
- Provide comprehensive performance reports to senior leadership, offering clear insights into the opportunities and challenges within the region.
- Proven experience in a senior management or leadership role within the online betting or gaming industries.
- In‑depth knowledge of the South African betting market, including its regulatory landscape, consumer behaviour, and competitive dynamics.
- Proven track record in driving business growth and leading teams effectively in a competitive environment.
- Demonstrable success in building and scaling a business, with a clear track record of driving revenue growth and profitability.
- Strong, hands‑on leadership skills with experience in building and managing multi‑disciplinary teams on the ground.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a data‑driven approach to decision‑making.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills, with the gravitas to act as the face of the business.
