Accounting Manager
An Am Law 100 firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Accounting team in Los Angeles. This role supports office operations through strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and law firm accounting practices, and contributes to the strategic planning and execution of departmental and Finance Committee objectives. The Accounting Manager oversees the end-to-end billing process for the office, including billing and collection activities.
This position is based in their Century City office and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work schedule combining in-office and remote work.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as a subject matter expert to billing attorneys, senior office and department leadership, and the Finance Committee.
- Partner with the Global Billing team to implement and administer firmwide billing and inventory management best practices.
- Manage, develop, and coordinate accounting staff to ensure timely, accurate delivery of departmental objectives.
- Provide guidance, training, and strategic support on billing and accounting matters, including financial metrics, rate analysis, alternative fee arrangements, budgets, and fixed-fee matters.
- Drive the Firm’s “Gold Standard” inventory management process, overseeing billing timeliness, reporting, inventory meetings, collections support, and safeguarding all sensitive and confidential financial information.

And have:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- A minimum of eight (8) years of increasingly complex Accounting experience
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience in an Accounting management capacity
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in general accounting practices
