Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities- Provides day to day leadership and management that reflect the adopted mission and core values of the organization.
- Assumes responsibilities for interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Establishes and approves overall work schedules and determines individual or work group assignments.
- Formulates policies, programs and procedures related to medical services along with the Medical Services Branch Supervisors.
- Works with other Clinical Service Division Branch Supervisors for the purpose of meeting FDIHB needs for Medical Services in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer.
- Helps oversee privileging and credentialing of the Medical Staff in conjunction with the Chief of Staff
- Assumes responsibility for the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement of Medical Care delivered at FDIHB in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer and members of the Medical Staff.
- Develops and implements plans/programs for improvement and expansion of outpatient care services, including the Dental, Family Medicine, Optometry, Pediatrics, and Radiology departments to meet changing patient care needs or staffing levels.
- Assumes responsibility for satisfying Medical Services Branch Department’s requirements to maintain CMS and other pertinent accreditation.
- Optimizes and updates best practices in all Medical Service Departments with the Medical Services Branch Supervisors and Revenue Generating Department; includes budgeting for day to day operations, capital equipment and strategic planning.
- Serves on a variety of hospital committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
- Three (3) years of clinical experience in chosen specialty
- Two (2) years of experience in supervising a Hospital Department (or equivalent) including developing and following budgets for day to day operations and capital equipment.
Education:
- Completion of Medical Degree (or
D.O) - Completion of an accredited residency program.
- Active, unrestricted Medical License from any U.S. State or Territory.
- Current, valid, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License.
- Board Eligible or Board Certification in respective discipline
