Position Summary
Market Business Service Officers (MBSO) shape the future of service by modernizing client experience at an elevated standard of care. The MBSO works closely with the Market Management Team to lead and supervise all service and business functions across the market, including the management of Business Service Officers and Service Managers. The MBSO drives key strategic initiatives, contributes to a strong market culture, develops employees, ensures high level of client service, and oversees operational processes.
The MBSO keeps the Management Team and Regional Business Service team informed of significant matters and determines when escalation is necessary.
- Lead the market in executing strategic priorities by influencing and coaching behavioral change.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Business Service Officers, Service Managers and Service Professionals.
- Review and oversee onboarding procedures for new hires, including Financial Advisors and Support Professionals in collaboration with Market Service Coaches.
- Ensure Service Professionals are recognized and rewarded within the market.
- Oversee projects across the market, including real estate and facilities initiatives.
- Manage risk and assure positive audit results in partnership with Risk and Compliance.
- Champion diversity & inclusion communication and relationship building.
- Maintain strong relationships with key partners throughout the market, region, and home office.
- Facilitate resolution of client needs and act as liaison between the market and home office departments.
- Participate in regional and national calls and keep abreast of key topics to cascade communications locally.
- Conduct meetings to communicate progress on strategic priorities, policy revisions, platform enhancements, best practices, and foster teamwork.
- Partner with Human Resources on all aspects of people management and operational oversight.
- Standardize operating procedures across the market, leveraging national best practices.
- Accountable for market expense management, including controllable budgets and headcount allocations.
- Review and action market approvals requiring attention.
- Administer other duties delegated by the Market Management Team or Regional Business Service team.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures through regular self‑audit testing.
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education.
- Previous industry management experience.
- Active Series 7 (GS), Series 9 and Series 10 (SU), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) required.
- Evidence of strong leadership capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage relationships, motivate, and lead groups at various levels.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and resolve complex problems and to escalate as necessary.
- Ability to provide comprehensive feedback and solutions to complex issues.
- Exceptional organizational, time‑management, and delegation skills.
- Exceptional conflict resolution and judgment skills.
- Strategic thinking and execution ability.
- Travel within the market, region, and home office as needed.
- Ability to identify and source top talent.

Expected base pay will range from $170,000 to $215,000 per year, plus commission, incentive, bonus, and other compensation. The firm’s recruiting efforts are committed to diversity and excellence.
