Overview
Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Manager II, Chief of the Apprenticeship & Workforce Innovation Unit, the Manager I (Partnership Development Branch Chief) directs the activities of the Partnerships Team. The Manager I will be responsible for the overall management of the Partnerships Team. Direct and manage information gathering, analysis, and recommendations on new program development pertaining to apprenticeship expansion, regional leadership, and industry partnerships.
Provides high-level outreach workforce expertise and technical assistance, supporting workforce apprenticeship initiatives, and identifying and promoting best practices and lessons learned in program development at the state, regional, and local levels to increase equitable access for registered apprenticeship programs in California.
- Direct and manage information gathering, analysis, and recommendations on new program development pertaining to apprenticeship expansion, regional leadership, and industry partnerships.
- Provide high-level outreach workforce expertise and technical assistance, supporting workforce apprenticeship initiatives.
- Identify and promote best practices and lessons learned in program development at the state, regional, and local levels to increase equitable access for registered apprenticeship programs in California.
- Direct the activities of the Partnerships Team and manage overall team performance.

The incumbent is expected to communicate effectively with team members and program leaders and to foster a culture that supports the mission and vision of the Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS). Provide outstanding customer service to stakeholders.
Working ConditionsThis job is located at:

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting or working from home. Current DAS policy is working from the office or the field at least 2 days/week. The office is in an air-conditioned, high-rise building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Occasionally attend committee meetings and outreach events; collaborate with staff statewide to complete work assignments.
Occasional travel will be required.
