Senior Traffic & Revenue Project Manager

Overview

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Traffic & Revenue within the Transportation West Group in California. The position is hybrid remote/office-based and can be based out of any CDM Smith CA location (Carlsbad, Concord, Irvine, Los Angeles, Rancho Cucamonga, Sacramento, San Francisco, or Truckee). The role involves managing scope, schedule, and budget for traffic and revenue planning projects for transportation clients in California and the Western United States, with involvement in business development and proposal activities.

• Lead and manage all levels of traffic and revenue studies, from sketch to investment grade.
• Manage Traffic & Revenue projects for California and Western US clients.
• Develop scope, budget and schedules for transportation projects.
• Develop project assumptions and toll alternatives.
• Conduct meetings with toll authority clients for business development purposes.
• Collaborate with client service leaders to created proposals in response to current and potential client RFPs.
• Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
• Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future T&R needs.
• Attend conferences and symposia to improve the visibility of the firm.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and mentor for growth within the discipline and firm.
• Supervise the work of junior planners and engineers on project work.
• Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables and support on projects managed by others.

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 10 years of related experience.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency contingent on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, transportation engineering, or civil engineering.
• PTP, AICP, and/or PE certifications.
• Project management experience consulting on traffic & revenue projects for public clients.
