Location: Quebec

* Support potential and current students across the continuum of application and study within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences professional programs, from pre-admission to, application, to their studies and with continued career guidance.
* Oversee the development and delivery of outreach programs aimed at generating interest in health professional careers and attracting qualified First Nations and Inuit students to apply to the health professional training programs within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
* Ensure efficient support of activities supporting Indigenous students within Schools and Departments of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences through regular communication with unit-level leads.
* Guide the advancement of curriculum development on Indigenous health at the Health Professions Schools, in collaboration with respective curriculum committees.
* Coordinate outreach efforts with other units across the University, notably the Office for Indigenous Initiatives, to maximize impact.
* Make strategic recommendations regarding funding opportunities relevant to IHPP’s mandate and contribute to applications for such funding, as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders and partner organizations to advance and promote the Indigenous engagement strategies of the Faculty.
* Foster relationships with Indigenous alumni and current faculty members to expand networking and mentorship opportunities.
* Act as liaison and ensure coordination with other McGill Faculties and senior administration, particularly the Office of Indigenous Initiatives.
* Collaborate with University Advancement to assist in fundraising efforts with McGill University in support of IHPP.
* Directly manage a team of administrative and/or support staff. Guide and coach staff to achieve unit goals and outcomes. Determine deadlines, delegate and verify work. Conduct regular staff meetings.
* 3 years’ related experience
* Experience in program development and administration in a University setting is preferred
* Significant demonstrated leadership capacity within a University setting or similar, lived experience of Indigenous cultures, values, and epistemologies, and the approach, skills and experience necessary to facilitate cross-cultural knowledge-building and collaboration.
* Strong demonstrated experience working and building relationships with Indigenous organizations such as Indigenous councils and bands, agencies focused on Indigenous health issues in Quebec and Canada (i.e. Indigenous health professionals, Indigenous health and education organizations, Indigenous community leaders, members and communities, etc.) for information sharing, collaboration, project planning and partnership building
* Proven excellent organizational skills and professionalism
* Written and oral communication skills in an Indigenous language spoken by Indigenous communities present in the province of Quebec an asset
* Ability to work independently
* Demonstrated superior English written and oral communication skills, written and oral communication skills in French an asset
