Job Summary:
At the Department of Economic Security (DES) we strengthen individuals, families, and communities for a better quality of life. The Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) seeks an experienced Senior Finance & Operations Manager to provide leadership and direction in finance, operations, and strategic initiatives. This position may allow remote work based on department needs.
- Oversee the division’s accounting, finance, data analytics, information and reporting; accounts payable; contracts; purchasing, facilities, and State Disbursement Unit/Clearinghouse.
- Analyze performance, plan, organize and assign work, establish priorities, and ensure realistic completion schedules are developed, documented, and communicated to stakeholders.
- Work with senior leadership to identify and avoid liabilities that may place federal incentives at risk and/or compromise service for clients.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, policies, procedures, goals and responsibilities; principles, concepts, and methods of government and financial accounting; internal control structures; analysis and auditing tools.
- Strong facilitation, active listening, collaborative, flexible, service mentality, critical thinking, detail oriented, analytical skills.
- Ability to summarize, analyze, interpret complex information; plan, coordinate, establish priorities across multiple assignments; manage, coach, mentor diverse professionals; exercise discretion and independent judgment; manage finance, accounting, budgeting, control and reporting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, public administration or related field OR five (5) years of professional experience in related fields including social service programs, human service fields, or other public policy.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a related field.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Successfully pass background checks and reference checks; employment contingent upon completion.
- Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify) required.
