THE ROLE
As the Multi-Unit Director of Sales for our Lodging Division, you will apply your operations experience and strategic planning strengths to ensure that each Indigo Road event venue and hotel is providing a great experience for team members and guests while maximizing all profit opportunities.
What we will ask of you:
- Work with the Indigo Road Hospitality Group Home Office Leadership team and, in particular, with the senior operations leaders and the Revenue Management Team and Indigo Road marketing partners on developing sales growth strategies for driving total top line revenue generation for each of the hotels.
- Lead, oversee and support the property-based sales teams.
- Insure effective selling processes are in place.
- Be a task force manager at the unit level from time to time as needed.
- Work with sales teams to support major and critical developing client accounts
- Inspire the Sales team to work collaboratively toward a shared vision, while providing ongoing mentoring, coaching, and development opportunities
- Build high performing, cohesive, guest focused solutions sales teams.
- Identify, develop, and retain high performing sales professionals
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and ensure development of a successful sales strategy.
- As Director of Sales for Lodging, you will be expected to maintain a disciplined weekly sales cadence that provides clear visibility into performance, pace, and forward-looking demand across the hotel portfolio. This includes delivering a concise weekly sales recap, to senior leadership and/or ownership group, outlining week-over-week and year-over-year results versus budget, current pipeline health, and identified risks or opportunities. You will actively manage and grow a defined list of target accounts, documenting engagement, progress, and next steps, while driving both short-term revenue pickup and long-term account development.
This role requires ownership of results, proactive communication, and the ability to translate data into actionable strategy that supports overall hotel performance and revenue goals.
- Prior experience as a Director or Regional Vice President of Sales in a full-service, independent and/or luxury hotel or resort required
- Minimum of Ten (10) years of progressive management experience in the hospitality field with overseeing multiple properties.
- Must be located in Charleston, SC.
- Travel is expected as needed to support our locations in various sales efforts including onsite sales support for extended periods of time.
- This is not a remote or work from home position, daily attendance is required at the Home Office location in Charleston, SC when you are not traveling.
- College Degree or equivalent industry experience
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to be flexible with constantly changing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and manner.
- Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to make accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
