Overview
The Project Manager, APAC Distribution Operations will lead targeted change initiatives with a primary focus on improving critical business processes and business excellence initiatives across distribution operations. While some initiatives are delivered independently, the majority involve managing and collaborating within cross-functional team environments to identify improvement opportunities, develop and execute plans (objectives, scope, issues, risks & budget), monitor progress and milestones, and drive delivery through implementation and beyond.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple distribution projects with broad scopes to meet business and corporate goals and objectives. Projects cover network studies, freight optimization, business excellence, process mapping and documentation, quality system implementation and upgrades, systems improvements, warehouse tools and technology implementations, and more.
- Assist in the preparation of business cases to initiate projects.
- Establish requirements with customers and key stakeholders. Understand business requirements for each project and make strategic decisions that may significantly impact deliverables.
- Assist with development and management of project budgets and schedules; strive to meet performance requirements and participate in planning and funding through completion of the project.
- Establish roles, responsibilities and competencies for the project. Build and manage an effective project team, including resource acquisition and operating in a matrix organization.
- Develop an overall project plan that may include Project Charter, risk assessments, timeline, milestones, financial projections, performance measures, and change management plans.
- Establish organization and governance structures to deliver project objectives.
- Lead teams to meet project deliverables or deliver initiatives as a sole project expert.
- Provide recognition to project and customer team members.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Identify project uncertainties and escalate decisions and unresolved issues as needed.
- Own a project through predefined completion criteria and communicate goals, milestones, and impact to team, customers and stakeholders.
- Capture lessons learned and apply them to future initiatives; maintain subject matter expertise in project management methodology.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Project management knowledge and methodology; familiarity with multiple methodologies is a plus.
- Experience organizing and managing small to large or complex projects with efficient use of resources and delivery of results that meet or exceed expectations.
- Working knowledge of processes and tools for managing all phases of a project.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously and work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Good understanding of distribution operations and interactions with supply chain and customer service.
- Demonstrates initiative, urgency, and strong problem-solving skills with cross-functional and multi-location collaboration.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, listening and communication skills at all levels (internal, external, global).
- Cross-cultural awareness and adaptability to fit various cultures; familiarity with global business environments and supply chain dependencies.
- Understanding of sales and distribution channels.
- Project management certification.
- Experience with Oracle or comparable ERP systems.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or Black Belt).
- Competency in MS Project, Smartsheet, Trello, JIRA, Confluence.
- Strategic business perspective; equivalent combination of experience and/or education may be considered.
This role will be performed in a hybrid work environment determined in collaboration with the hiring manager. Work from home, at the office, and Res Med distribution centers can be expected. Some travel throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Must be available during core business hours. Physical demands include desk work, occasional walking, and handling of product and equipment in a warehouse environment.
The noise level and temperature/humidity variation in the warehouse environment are typically moderate. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
