Overview

Director, Regulatory Solutions - Pet Insurance - Remote s role can be fully remote for the right candidate.

This role leads regulatory solutions for pet insurance, focusing on regulatory compliance, external concerns, and customer experience. Internal Comp Grade is H3. This position does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

Job Description Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the drafting of contracts, regulatory filings, and negotiation of approvals; establish compliance guidelines.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of compliance programs and related documentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of required regulatory disclosures and filings.
  • Review policy forms, agreements, and related documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain programs to keep operational areas informed of regulatory requirements.
  • Build and manage relationships with regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals, meetings, hearings, and other compliance activities.
  • Serve as liaison with internal legal, compliance, and government relations teams, and external partners.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assist in efforts to address changes impacting the business.
  • Coordinate planning processes for assigned products or services.
  • Manage associates, including performance management, salary planning, training and development, workflow planning, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Undergraduate degree in business administration, accounting, law, or a related field preferred.

License/Certification: Industry designations (e.g., CLU, ChFC) preferred.

Experience: Ten years of related work experience, including compliance, regulatory, or operational leadership roles preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities, and

Skills:

Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to financial services and/or insurance. Ability to interpret statutes, regulations, and policy provisions. Skilled in contract management, compliance oversight, and product development strategies. Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies. Ability to set priorities, recommend solutions, and lead teams effectively.
