Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) and Economic Development Coordinator — Pinellas County
Location: Lealman Exchange, 5175 45th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33714
Salary: $71,115 – $92,435.20 (based on experience)
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday; occasional evenings and weekends. Remote work possible for partial days as needed.
What You Will Do- Economic Development & Community Renewal:
- Assess community and business needs to inform strategic redevelopment plans.
- Develop and implement programs for business attraction, retention, and expansion.
- Create innovative CRA projects that drive economic growth and residential renewal.
- Project Management & Program Administration:
- Manage all phases of CRA-funded projects—from research and data gathering to implementation and evaluation.
- Oversee CRA grant programs, vendor contract management, and performance monitoring.
- Prepare and manage budgets, including Tax Increment Financing (TIF), and ensure accurate reporting.
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage residents, businesses, neighborhood associations, and other stakeholders to build strong relationships.
- Serve as a community resource, addressing concerns and aligning initiatives with local priorities.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance CRA processes and collaborate with county departments to implement best practices.
- Lead evolving projects and events as community needs change.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration, urban planning, or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s and four (4) years of related experience, or a Master’s and two (2) years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience or supervisory training.
- Florida driver’s license or commercial driver’s license and endorsement (if applicable).
- Availability to work diverse schedules, including emergency or disaster situations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of economic development principles and real‑estate development.
- Program administration experience, including budget management, expenditure tracking, purchasing, and reporting.
- Knowledge of community development, land use principles, local government operations, and budget/finance systems.
- Proven project‑management skills: research, data analysis, and clear reporting.
- Exceptional written and oral communication; ability to build consensus and engage diverse groups.
- Strong analytical and administrative skills for contract and grant management.
- Problem‑solving skills for complex public‑sector challenges.
- Florida Retirement System (FRS) participation with investment and pension options.
