Salary Range: $104,028 - $109,728 Annually
This is a telework/hybrid position. The candidate of choice may work from anywhere within a reasonable driving distance to Washington Corrections Center (Shelton, WA) and Washington Corrections Center for Women (Gig Harbor, WA), as the candidate of choice will be required to work a minimum of two days per month at each facility.
The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven leader to serve the pivotal Records Division management role, WCC/WCCW Records Manager, where precision, accountability, and public safety intersect. The goal of this position is to assume the role of expert for the Washington Corrections Center (WCC) and Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) regarding sentence structure and time calculations for new admissions and releases.
This position plays a critical part in ensuring that court-ordered sentences are carried out accurately and lawfully, directly impacting the integrity of the justice system and the safety of the communities we serve.
As a member of the Records Division management team, this position serves as the technical authority regarding sentence structure and time accounting for admissions and releases. The candidate of choice will oversee records processes, OMNI applications, and potential future systems, to ensure incarcerated individuals serve the sentences ordered by the courts.
Working closely with facility leadership, this position resolves operational challenges that affect records operations while partnering with the Senior Records Manager and Management Analyst to maintain statewide consistency. This role is critical to public safety, ensuring releases from confinement and supervision are accurate, lawful, and timely, while leading continuous improvement and change management across records operations. The position also exercises independent judgement in interpreting and implementing complex RCWs and court decisions that directly impact sentence calculations and release outcomes.

As the WCC/WCCW Records Manager, some of your duties will include:
- Providing direction to WCC and WCCW records staff to ensure consistency and adherence to agency policy/processes, Washington State statutes, and court decisions which could include:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining receiving, sentence structure and time calculation processes, out to court processes, and release processes
- Providing subject matter expertise to appointing authorities, and direction to WCC and WCCW records staff regarding complex sentence structure issues and agency policy
- Communicating with records staff at WCC and WCCW regarding records issues/concerns. Notifies appropriate staff of issues and recommends solutions and/or course(s) of action to achieve resolution
- Reviewing, approving and submitting Post Sentence Review petitions to the Assistant Attorney General (AAG)
- Participating in OMNI (or future systems) development activities including:
- Providing directions to records staff at WCC and WCCW to ensure they understand the use, entry, and interpretation of OMNI screens, specifically the SSTA screen
- Reporting OMNI defects to the OMNI Business Unit, Records Director, and appropriate senior leadership
