The Role

A growing professional services firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its audit team. The role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client portfolio in a collaborative and inclusive environment, supporting long-term career development and progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the audit process from planning through to completion
  • Monitoring progress of work, budgets and deadlines
  • Ensuring all work is delivered on time and to a high technical standard
  • Supervising, mentoring and coaching qualified staff and trainees
  • Liaising with tax and other specialist teams
  • Contributing to one-off assignments and technical or advisory projects

Ongoing technical training and soft-skills development are provided to support continuous professional growth.

The audit team is well established and comprises a substantial number of professionals at varying stages of their careers. There is a strong emphasis on development, with a focus on supporting individuals to build long‑term careers within the firm.

Clients are varied and include listed entities, complex group structures with international connections, owner‑managed businesses, and not‑for‑profit organisations.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate a high level of technical ability, commitment and flexibility. They should be self‑motivated, proactive and capable of building credibility and professional relationships at all levels. Commercial awareness and a clear understanding of client needs are essential.

Essential and Desirable Criteria
  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Strong audit or general practice background
  • Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 (IFRS knowledge desirable)
  • Experience with one‑off assignments or technical projects is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and relevant accounting and audit software
  • Strong leadership, supervision and training skills
