As Sr. Claims Manager this position is responsible for all claims management for multiple automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and reports to the General Manager of Finished Vehicle Operations. This position oversees the entire claims operation which includes various types of services relating to transportation, warranty, auction, and major damage/total loss claims.

This position is expected to focus on performance metrics, process improvements, customer relations, the accurate disposition of damage and total loss claims, collections, and ensure customer satisfaction in all areas. What does Vascor have to offer? Extensive Benefits and incentives:

Position Responsibilities
  • Supervision of all Sr. Claim’s Analysts and Claims Analysts for the Claims Department.
  • Interfacing with multiple OEMs high level management and implementing programs to continuously improve the claims management processes.
  • Achieving target performance metrics provided by the customer and providing weekly/monthly/annual reports to both customer and VASCOR management.
  • Facilitating and presenting KPI/Metric data to multiple OEMs, while ensuring the business lines needs and wants are notated for quick prioritization and a minimal amount of turnaround for quick results.
  • Resolving all types of collection or process issues between carriers, inspection companies, yard management companies and the OEM. Interface with insurance companies regarding specific damage and total loss claims. This includes carrier calls regarding claim payment, aging, declines, etc.
  • Fully understand the escalation process for OEMs involvement and can negotiate with suppliers when directed by OEMs.
  • Interface with OEMs accounting department and provide weekly/monthly/annual transaction reports for reconciliation.
  • Ability to read, understand and apply legal and contractual principles to claims events on behalf of the OEM.
  • Interfacing with VASCOR IT, Supplier IT, and OEM IT to resolve interface issues and determine where additional interfaces may be applied to streamline processes.
  • Continuously train and improve employee business skills. Maintain work instructions for all job functions and participate in industry meetings.
  • Create and or facilitate new endeavors for the Claims Department in relation to Internships and Kaizens.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of multiple OEMs as part of the claims department. Must be able to manage employees and maintain customer and supplier relationships. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, training employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems for employees and customers.

Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience
  • Multiple years processing claims and some management skills and/or experience needed.
  • Automotive experience is necessary with an understanding of or experience in processing and resolving claims for all parties involved including OEM’s, carriers, port processors and inspection companies.
Training
  • Working knowledge of the transportation and warranty claims process within the automotive and general freight industries.
  • Knowledgeable regarding the legal and regulatory issues related to claims.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and it relates to claim processes and reconciliation.
Skills
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to build and maintain supplier relationships, experience working with body shops and an understanding of the estimating process and damage thresholds.
  • Catastrophic claim processing, automotive claims processing, and warranty claim processing.
Physical Demands And Work Environment

The physical and mental demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Predominantly an office environment. This position will have little travel but must be able to travel if necessary. Expected to be professional in manner and dress code. This position will be guided mainly by OEM office policies.
