Location: Aberdeen City
Overview
Offshore Maintenance Lead – lead maintenance support teams to deliver the Asset Plan for Spirit Energy’s offshore assets in Aberdeen. This role combines budget ownership, execution planning, and commercial management to achieve operational excellence.
ContractOne year initial contract, hybrid working, offshore travel expected in line with business needs.
LocationAberdeen office – Aberdeen City, Scotland, GB.
Compensation£570 - £700 per week (depending on experience) plus PAYE, holiday pay.
Responsibilities- Set and manage the multi‑year maintenance budget, driving year‑on‑year savings.
- Develop synergies and cost‑saving opportunities with other assets through contract optimisation.
- Ensure robust maintenance programmes and deliver execution of maintenance in line with the Work Management Process (WMP), meeting performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in the execution of maintenance.
- Contribute to production targets by managing key equipment threats, ensuring safety and environmentally critical equipment (SECE) and business critical equipment (BCE) availability.
- Coordinate plans and work of Job Responsible Engineers (JREs) and Site Responsible Position’s (SRPs), ensuring integrated vendor‑led maintenance activity.
- Set, agree and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring programmes are fully supported by budget and resources.
- Plan and manage all maintenance activities so that shutdown and Integrated Activity Plan’s (IAP’s) are compliant with gate criteria.
- Measure performance and delivery against company and industry metrics on maintenance – schedule attainment, compliance, backlog, deferred hours, etc.
- Drive continuous improvement – develop plans to manage (reduce) and prioritise business critical backlog, manage execution of SECE work that balances planned and corrective work, reduce breakdown work entering 4W schedule, minimise repeat deferral of SECE work.
- Champion and implement ‘smart’ technology to drive efficiency within maintenance (tablet report, online monitoring, rationalise systems).
- Identify and own key equipment vulnerabilities, implement prioritised solutions to manage and reduce risk, minimise potential for breakdowns, unplanned outages, promote plant availability / stability.
- Manage the establishment, maintenance and performance of contracts to deliver required support in the execution of maintenance, including condition monitoring, valve maintenance, rotating equipment, etc.
- Actively manage, measure and improve the performance of contracts owned / managed within the maintenance team, working with asset and procurement teams.
- Degree‑educated in a technical discipline, ideally a registered Chartered Engineer.
- Significant experience in maintenance leadership roles, with experience in reliability engineering.
- A decisive leader who sets high standards, drives performance, and leads through senior leaders to deliver through their teams – agile, flexible, open to challenge.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to influence and persuade constructively.
- Experience in complex and ambiguous situations, calm, proactive, and able to manage disagreements and problems with constructive approach.
- Ability to lead and promote organisational change, take informed risks, learn from failures.
- Strong professional network and ability to build rapport across organisational levels.
- Experience with smart technology implementation, vendor management, and cost optimisation.
- Ability to manage multi‑year maintenance budgets and drive cost savings.
