Remote Camp Operations Manager, SLB East Camp (Wage DOE & Benefits - 3x3 ROT/Housing/Meals - North Slope)

Position located in Anchorage, AK. This role is a rotational 3‑week on / 3‑week off assignment supporting Schlumberger’s SLB East Camp on the North Slope.

Overview

The Remote Camp Operations Manager oversees the Food Service and Housekeeping Departments for a remote camp, ensuring compliance with NMS standards and policies while fostering strong relationships with clients, customers, and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Provide management and oversight for assigned remote camp activities.
  • Act as the primary resource for NMS Food Service and Housekeeping personnel.
  • Serve as a backup resource for other areas as requested.
  • Track performance to meet key performance indicators.
  • Coaching and developing employees within the formal coaching and succession planning framework.
  • Advance NMS performance excellence strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate a "One Team" relationship dynamic within the NMS organization.
  • Direct and coordinate the delivery of NMS services.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business plans for assigned activities.
  • Establish an organized system of supervision and formal operating procedures.
  • Ensure activities comply with business practices and internal/external requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain business relationships with clients/customers, market products, and resolve problems.
  • Lead, direct, and motivate staff.
  • Define responsibilities, authorities, and accountability for all assigned employees.
  • Assign tasks and inspect completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Develop and manage operating budget.
  • Approve budget expenditures for the assigned area.
  • Create bid materials, cost and manpower templates, and menus for catering contracts.
  • Support an active safety and continuous improvement program.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in structuring activities, teamwork, communication, and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage supervisory responsibilities for subordinate managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Conduct hiring, training, performance appraisals, rewards, discipline, and complaint resolution.
  • Handle other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of formal college training in a business field (or two (2) additional years of related managerial experience without college).
  • At least seven (7) years of service‑based, hospitality, food service, housekeeping, hotel, or remote camp management experience, including at least two (2) years of significant supervisory responsibilities.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance in a remote setting.
  • Pass all pre‑employment contract requirements (background check, drug test, physical, fit‑for‑duty, hearing test). Remote applicants must travel to a testing facility if unavailable locally.
  • Must live in dormitory‑style settings and maintain cleanliness requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set by the company and client.
  • English language proficiency (read, write, speak, understand).
  • Perform each essential duty with professional competency.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
  • Success managing multiple tasks, projects, and subordinates.
  • Proficiency in planning and organization.
  • Understanding of profit attainment and growth.
  • Ability to lead, build diverse teams, and oversee training.
  • Personal maturity and poise under pressure.
  • Energy and drive to innovate.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft and web‑based applications.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and NMS accounting policies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate Information (Outside Anchorage)
  • Pre‑employment testing in Anchorage (except drug testing, which is conducted near residence).
  • Travel and accommodation expenses for pre‑employment tasks in Anchorage are the employee’s responsibility.
  • For candidates in Alaska, testing will be scheduled near residence when possible.
  • All employees pay travel expense to point of hire for scheduled trips to remote locations.
