National role (majority of sites based in the Midlands & South East)

Working Pattern:
Home-based when not on site

Candidates must be centrally based as relocation is not suitable.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established and growing construction company that is looking to appoint a disciplined, highly trusted Manager to take full ownership of the H&S function within the business. This is a senior role with real authority and accountability. You will work closely with senior management, be trusted to make decisions, and have full responsibility for your area. This is not a role for someone who needs close supervision - it is for someone who values trust, structure, and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

* Take full ownership of the H&S function

* Support and report directly to senior management

* Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards are maintained

* Manage budgets and financial responsibility within the function

* Ensure processes, compliance, and performance targets are met

* Provide leadership, structure, and clear decision-making

* Travel nationally as required

About You

You will be someone who is known for being reliable, disciplined, and trustworthy. You are comfortable being given responsibility and authority, and you take pride in running things properly.

You will ideally have:

* Proven experience at manager or senior level within construction or a related sector

* Strong organisational and leadership skills

* Experience managing budgets and operational responsibility

* The confidence to make decisions and be accountable for outcomes

* The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with senior stakeholders

* A calm, structured approach to problem-solving
