An opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager within the Special Projects Team in the Environment and Transport Department. The role will support the department’s management team, working across the department and in partnership with local communities and elected members, to provide a flexible resource that works on key departmental projects and issues.

About the Role

For this role you will lead a small, high performing team to:

  • Work collaboratively with the department, parishes and elected members to improve services, making a positive difference for our residents
  • Deliver a range of projects that improve service efficiency and savings

As an experienced programme and project manager, you will have the vision to identify and develop initiatives, be able to lead a portfolio of varied projects and have a knowledge of service improvement techniques. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse workload and be flexible to cope with changing priorities. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills to enable innovative, collaborative solutions to be identified and delivered.

You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Experience of leading high performing teams, that provide a flexible resource across a diverse range of service areas requiring a broad mix of skills
  • Experience and knowledge of programme and project management principles, with the ability to conceptualise and develop new ideas
  • Confident, effective and diplomatic communication and presentation skills, including to provide relevant, concise oral and written information to senior officers, Elected Members and external partners
  • High levels of political acumen
  • The ability to work with others to build effective and productive working relationships based on trust
  • Be able to adapt to varying workloads and priorities, work to tight timescales and to agreed targets

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
